Development of an Intelligent Autonomous Mobile Robot with Natural Language and Vision-Based Human Robot Interaction
Summary
This project will develop an intelligent autonomous mobile robot capable of perceiving its environment, navigating indoor spaces, interacting with users and responding to natural-language questions and commands. The platform will integrate embedded computing, cameras and other sensors, autonomous navigation, computer vision, artificial intelligence and speech-based human–robot interaction. The robot will be designed to recognize selected objects and environmental features, interpret spoken instructions and questions, and provide appropriate responses based on its perception and AI capabilities.
The project will provide an integrated research and practical training platform for students to gain hands-on experience in robotics, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, computer vision, autonomous navigation, speech processing and human–robot interaction. Students will participate in robot hardware integration, sensor interfacing, embedded programming, navigation and control, AI model development, vision-based perception and development of the natural-language interaction system. The resulting platform will establish a foundation for further research and applications in smart manufacturing, education, service robotics, assistive technologies and intelligent autonomous systems.
