Learning outcomes
Graduates should be able to demonstrate the technical knowledge and soft skills needed for professional leadership in petroleum engineering; monitor, assess, and mitigate environmental impacts of the petroleum industry; undertake advanced study and basic research in energy, minerals, petroleum, and environmental fields; compete in employment and graduate study; solve relevant engineering problems; and design, implement, and maintain projects using project economics and resource-valuation methods under risk and uncertainty.

Entry requirements
Direct entry: Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education with two Advanced Level principal passes obtained at the same sitting in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics. Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are essential; Technical Drawing, Biology, Economics, and Geography are relevant; General Paper, Sub-Mathematics, and ICT are desirable.
Diploma entry: a pass diploma in Science Technology (Chemistry/Biochemistry Techniques), Science Technology (Petroleum), or another relevant diploma. Credit transfer follows MUST Senate, NCHE, and Inter-University Council of East Africa guidelines.
